The release date of Shah Rukh Khan-starrer "Raees" is one of the talking points in Bollywood as of now. Several Bollywood filmmakers are waiting for the release date of "Raees" to be announced after reports said that the film will not clash with Salman Khan's "Sultan."
Trade analysts believe that filmmakers do not want their movies to clash with a Shah Rukh-starrer and thus are waiting for the final release date announcement.
"In my opinion, Salman and Shah Rukh should avoid clashing with each other as it will hamper the business of both films. Also, it goes without saying that filmmakers would not want to release their films with SRK," trade analyst Taran Adarsh told Mid-Day.
Another trade analyst pointed out that releasing a film along with "Raees" will affect their box office collection, as the screen count will be affected.
"No body would want to clash with a film like 'Raees' because it features SRK and is backed with a huge promotional budget. Also, any film which releases on the same date will have to fight for screens. It's natural for other filmmakers to wait for the confirmation and then plan for their films accordingly," trade analyst Girish Wankhede said.
"Raees," directed by Rahul Dholakia, is Shah Rukh's second biggest release of this year. The film is backed by a huge promotional campaign and till now it has generated a positive response.
The film was initially set for Eid release, but latest reports suggest that the film will be released on Diwali. If that happens, then the film will clash with Ajay Devgn's "Shivaay" and Karan Johar's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil." However, there has been no announcement about the release date of Shah Rukh-starrer.
