Kollywood was in almost full attendance at the celebrity cricket league organised by the Nadigar Sangam on Sunday, April 17. But Radikaa Sarathkumar and a few others skipped the event, which raised many eyebrows.
The actress, her husband Sarathkumar — a former president of Nadigar Sangam, Radha Ravi and a few others were not part of the event. It appeared like the former office-bearers are not on good terms yet with the current administration.
Now, Radikaa Sarathkumar has opened up on the issue on her Twitter account, saying they were not invited for the event. She wrote: "@vishal @karthi @cameel u shld lmprove maturity, kinship in inviting them for this event. They hav executed bigger events for sangam &country. This shows you in poor light. ps u forgot to invite me too. [sic]"
It has to be noted that Silambarasan aka Simbu, who had run for a key post from Sarathkumar's side, was spotted at the event for a little while, but did not actively take part in the event and remained a spectator.
The celebrity cricket league was graced by some of the big names from the industry like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, and Prabhu. Many celebrities from other industries, like Balakrishna, Nagarjuna, Srikanth Shivaraj Kumar, Sudeep and Mammootty, took part in the event.
The tournament was played among eight teams and Suriya's Chennai Singams won the trophy. Nadigar Sangam organised the event to raise funds to construct its new building.
The event has reportedly generated good money for them, and Sun TV alone has donated Rs. 9.25 crore for the construction of the new building.
