Radhika Kumaraswamy is all set to bid goodbye to acting. Her forthcoming movie "Namagagi" with Vijay Raghavendra will be her last flick.
Her brother Ram has confirmed the news to the Times of India. "She might continue to be a producer in KFI, but that is an idea which needs to be worked on," the daily quotes him as saying.
The one-time glamorous actress started her acting career with "Neela Megha Shyama," starring Srujan Lokesh. But it was "Ninagagi" that released before her first flick. It was a dream debut for her as the Kannada movie became a big hit. Offers started pouring in for her immediately following the success of the flick.
Her next movie "Thavarige Baa Thangi," starring Shivaraj Kumar, became a big hit among family audience and the actress decided to go for image makeover by doing glamorous role in "Prema Qaidi." In the next few years, Radhika Kumaraswamy acted in a series of commercial films and she also won a state award for "Taayi Illada Tabbali."
In her successful career, she worked with many stars, including Ravichandran and Upendra, before marrying politician and former chief minister of Karnataka HD Kumaraswamy in a low-profile wedding. Post marriage, she stayed away from the limelight and returned to the industry as a producer with "Lucky" in 2013.
After tasting success as a producer in her first movie, Radhika Kumaraswamy made a comeback to acting with "Sweety Nanna Jodi" and subsequently worked with Chiranjeevi Sarja in "Rudra Tandava."
