Multilingual actress Radhika Apte is not playing the female lead in Rajinikanth's next movie with Pa Ranjith. The actress told the Times of India that she is not a part of the film and denied the reports that she was approached for the same.
There were a lot of reports, which claimed that Radhika was approached to play a key role in the Rajinikanth starrer. It was speculated that after having a few rounds of talks, she had taken up the offer. However, with the actress clarifying on the issue, all these speculations have proved false.
Prior to Radhika, the names of Nayantara and Vidya Balan were also doing rounds in connection with the film.
Radhika has been in the news in the recent months for wrong reasons. First, some nude selfies of a lookalike was circulated on the Internet, creating controversy. Recently, a nude scene from one of her films made big news.
The actress, who had worked in many Indian languages, had earlier worked in Tamil in Prakash Raj's directorial "Dhoni" and Karthi starrer "All in All Azhagu Raja". She also worked with Vidharth in "Ula".
The new Rajinikanth's film will have its muhurat function on August 2. The regular shooting of the Tamil flick will begin soon after the launch in Malaysia, which will last for 60 days. The cast has to be finalised yet.
The technical team comprises of Murali, who is going to handle the cinematography department, Santhosh Narayanan will compose music, Ramalingam will handle art direction and Praveen K L will edit the untitled movie.
