Director Chandra's Telugu movie Radha, starring Sharwanand and Lavanya Tripathi, has received mixed reviews from viewers, who are not happy with its routine plot.
Radha is a romantic comedy movie with a good dose of action. Besides directing the film, Chandra Mohan has also written its story and screenplay. The movie is produced by BVSN Prasad under his banner Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra. Radhan has composed the music for the film while Karthik Ghattamneni has handled the cinematography.
The movie narrates the story of Radha Krishna (Sharwanand) who nurtures the dream of becoming a police officer since childhood. He is a staunch devotee of Krishna. After he joins the police force, Radha is posted at a place called Barsanapalle (Warangal), where the crime rate is zero. He then falls in love with a girl named Radha. He is subsequently transferred to Dhoolpet, Hyderabad. How he fights against two warring factions in this area forms the crux of the story.
Viewers say that Radha has a dull and predictable story. The first half has nothing new to offer in terms of the storyline, and a few romance scenes and Sharwanand's comedy keep the film goers entertained. The twist at the interval is good, but the second half is not so impressive with its routine narration. The climax also lacks freshness.
Sharwanand has delivered a good performance and his comic timing is the highlight of Radha. Lavanya Tripathi looks glamorous and her chemistry with the hero is one of the attractions of the film. Ravi Kishan, Aksha Pardasany and others have done justice to their roles. JP Reddy, Saptagiri and Fish Venkat's comedy are the other assets of the film, says the audience.
Radha has decent production values, with the music, picturisation at beautiful locations, action and dance choreography, and punchy dialogues being the other attractions.
