In the last two months, no big Telugu films hit the screens. The Telugu box office witnessed several low-budget films locking horns during the period.
Some of them managed to perform well, while many failed to set the cash registers ringing.
Allu Arjun's "Race Gurram", which hit the screens in April, remains the highest grossing Telugu film of 2014 with the action comedy entertainer raking in more than ₹50 crore share at the worldwide box office. Trade experts will be eager to see as to which film surpasses the Allu starrer collections and emerge on top.

"Rabhasa"
After some delays, Jr NTR's "Rabhasa" is all set to hit the screens on 29 August. The NTR starrer is touted to be a family drama laced with action and comedy. The film's first look posters, teaser, trailer and the songs have generated positive pre-release buzz about the project.
It is likely to take grand openings as Jr NTR commands a huge fan following among the masses. Advance booking and Ganesh Chathurthi long weekend are expected to ensure a fantastic opening weekend for the NTR starrer.
However, the film's box office status will depend on the audience's reaction.

"Power"
Ravi Teja's "Power" will be released on 5 September. The film was initially slated to hit theatres on 29 August, but it was apparently delayed by a week to give way for "Rabhasa" release.
Mass Maharaja Teja will be seen in the role of a cop in "Power", which is touted to be a complete mass entertainer.
The film is carrying positive buzz backed by its impressive teaser and the songs.
Teja is on a roll with his last release "Balupu" turning out to be a big hit. The actor will be hoping to continue his success streak with another hit.
"Power" is likely to have a solo release and is expected to take good openings at the box office. It might face stiff competition from NTR's "Rabhasa" if the film manages to impress the audience.

"Aagadu"
Mahesh Babu's "Aagadu" is one of the most-anticipated Telugu films of 2014. The film marks the second time collaboration of director Srinu Vaitla and Babu after the stupendous success of "Dookudu" in 2011.
The superstar will once again be donning the role of a cop in this action entertainer.
Expectations are pretty high for "Aagadu" as Babu is back in a complete commercial entertainer with loads of action and comedy.
Babu's last film "1 Nenokkadine" was a psychological thriller directed by Sukumar. The film received critical appreciation, but failed to set the cash registers ringing.

"Govindudu Andarivaadele"
Ram Charan's family drama "Govindudu Andarivaadele" (GAV) is creating a huge buzz in trade circles. The actor will be appearing in the role of an NRI in the film.

A few days ago, the makers released a vibrant teaser, which has raised the expectations about the project.
