"Raanjhanaa", a romantic film starring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor, has finally hit the ₹100 crore mark at the worldwide box office.
The film has reportedly entered the century club after finishing its four-week theatrical run at box offices worldwide.
Directed by Anand L Rai, the film was released in a limited number of screens on 21 June in India and in overseas market. The Tamil version of the film titled "Ambikapathy" was released on 28 June in 300 screens.
Dhanush, who is a National Award winning actor, has made a big mark in the Hindi film industry with his debut Bollywood film. This is Dhanush and Sonam's first Bollywood film that has made ₹100 crore.
The "Raanjhanaa" team will be holding a grand event in Mumbai on Wednesday to celebrate the success of the film.
"Dhanush celebrating #Raanjhanaa success in Mumbai today - ₹100 Cr gross worldwide," senior film journalist Sreedhar Pillai tweeted.
"Raanjhanaa" is the fourth film released this year that has crossed the ₹100 crore mark after "Race 2", "Aashiqui 2" and "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani".
The film is all set to a make worldwide premiere online on 2 August. Viewers can log on to www.erosnow.com to watch the film online.
The love story also features Abhay Deol, Swara Bhaskar and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub in important roles.
