Puneeth Rajkumar's Raajakumara, which is about to complete 100-days run in theatres, has been hit by piracy. Shockingly, a TV channel has broadcasted a bootlegged copy of Kannada flick.

Karthik Gowda, the executive producer of Raajakumara, has lodged a formal complaint with the cyber cell and the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. "Case has been filed with the chamber and cyber department on this channel for airing the movie. Legal actions will be taken. [sic]" he tweeted.

He said action will be taken against people airing the film on social media. "All d fb pages and YT channels airing the film will be brought down & deleted as we have filed with proof of screenshots. [sic]" he tweeted.

The latest development has left the fans in a state of shock with many requesting people not to encourage piracy. The involvement of the TV channel has angered the fans. They are demanding strict action against Channel as deterrence.

The piracy rate has increased manifold over the years with the rise in internet penetration across the globe and India.

Almost all big movies leak online within a day of their release. While some movies (of both good and poor print quality) have made their way to the internet within a day of release, there have been instances when some movies surfaced online even before they hit theatres.

Coming to Raajakumara, the movie has turned out to be one of the biggest hits at the Sandalwood box office. Santhosh Anandrram directorial has minted over Rs. 50 crore.
