Sushant Singh Rajput has tried to be a romantic hero in Raabta, unlike his previous films, and seemed to have failed miserably. He has shared the screen space with Kriti Sanon and Jim Sarbh, who are good actors but couldn't possibly save the film at the box office.
The opening day of Dinesh Vijan's Raabta was not impressive and on its second day, the collection has dropped at the domestic market. While Day 1 of Raabta saw an earning of Rs 5.61 crore, Day 2 saw a collection of Rs 5.11 crore.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted: "#Raabta Fri 5.61 cr, Sat 5.11 cr. Total: ₹ 10.72 cr. India biz."
The movie was released in 1,820 screens in India and in 330 screens overseas. Though Raabta garnered hype because of Kriti-Sushant's rumoured affair and Magadheera plagiarism row, none of them helped the movie to attract the audience.
As Sushant and Kriti have a huge number of fan following, it was surprising to see that the movie didn't do well as expected at the box office. One of the reasons might be that the movie got leaked online the very next day of its release.
Many illegal websites are offering free online streaming of the copy of movie which is apparently of poor quality. Ever since downloading of films from the web has become a punishable offence, watching them online has become the new trend in the field of piracy.
Also, Ramadan can be another reason why people are not going to movie theatres. But, the main reason is the movie review of Raabta. Despite good actors, the director failed to execute the story properly and left the audience unimpressed.
