Film critics came down heavily on Shah Rukh Khan's Diwali "Ra.One" like a ton of bricks but that didn't stop the film from racking in huge revenue. It broke the highest collection in a single day by earning Rs.23.5 crores on Thursday (Oct 27) alone.
Shah Rukh's magnum opus, which was released at 3,100 screens across India, has earned Rs.96 crore in the first five days. Its five day collection from abroad is Rs.32.75 crore. So, its total collection worldwide is Rs.129 crore. However, it may be mentioned that the revenue of the film is influenced by its higher ticket price.
The film is expected to earn big from abroad as Eros International is planning to release it in many countries including South Korea, Hong Kong , Taiwan , Russia , Lebanon, Jordan, Syria and Palestine , Brazil , Spain, Italy and Greece.
"Ra.One" directed by Anubhav Sinha features Shah Rukh Khan, Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles.
