German car-maker Audi had introduced the second-generation R8 V10 Spyder more than a year ago at the New York Auto Show. Now, the Ingolstadt-based car-maker has introduced the powered-up Plus version, which is also the company's fastest convertible ever.

"The Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus completes the R8 model line," said Stephan Winkelmann, Managing Director of Audi Sport GmbH. "The Spyder is now also available as a 610 hp top version in addition to the Coupé. It benefits from our many years of experience in motorsport and combines breathtaking dynamics with the emotion of an open-top sports car," he added.
The naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 mill in the R8 Spyder V10 Plus develops 610hp of power and 560Nm of torque mated to seven-speed S tronic. The bump in power makes the Plus version faster than the regular sibling. The V10 Plus requires just 3.3 seconds (0.3 seconds faster than regular V10 Spyder) to reach 0 to 100kmph. The Plus model also has a top speed of 328 kmph (up by 10 kmph). The improvements have surprisingly reduced the weight of R8 Spyder V10 Plus by 25 kg over regular V10 Spyder.
The highlight of the R8 Spyder V10 Plus is that the optional micrommata green design package lends the convertible a striking visual appeal. The distinctive green body paint is complemented with anthracite gray single-frame grille and black tailpipe covers. The interior is finished completely in black in fine Nappa leather, which is perforated. Green contrast stitching accents the seats, centre armrests, doors and floor mats match the exterior colour.
The standard package of Audi R8 Spyder V10 Plus also includes ceramic brakes, bucket seats, light-alloy forged wheels, and the fantastic 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster. The Spyder V10 Plus has been priced at Euro 207,500 (approximately Rs 1.49 crore) and will make its way to India soon, according to AutoToday.
