Prabhu Deva's directorial film "R... Rajkumar" is set for a respectable second weekend of business, after earning decent figures on its second Friday of theatrical run.
The action masala film survived at the box office in its first week and managed to rake in good figures. The Shahid Kapoor-Sonakshi Sinha starrer raked in ₹47.05 crore from around 2,300 screens from its first week run.
The film entered its second week and dominated the box offices over new releases. On the second Friday, the film managed to rake in more than ₹2 crore. The film earned more on Saturday and also opened to good occupancy on Sunday.
The poor collections of "Jackpot" and "What The Fish" is apparently helping "R... Rajkumar" at ticket collection centres. The film should rake in more than ₹10 crore from its second weekend run.
"R... Rajkumar" continues to have a strong hold at single screens especially in Maharashtra, Gujarat, CP Berar, CI, Rajasthan, Bihar and Nizam circuits, according to boxofficeindia.com. It managed to rake in decent earnings from Mysore and Bengal circuits.
The only places where the collections remained constant on the lower side are NCR and Punjab circuits. Earnings from multiplexes were lower compared to single screens.
Meanwhile, following the success of "R... Rajkumar" Shahid and Prabhu Deva have teamed up again for their second project.
"Yes, Shahid and I working together again. We'll lock in the dates as soon as I finalize the script. Right now I can only tell you that it would be an action film with lots of stunts drama and comedy. In other words, the film that audiences want from me," Prabhu told Bollywood Hungama.
