Queen Elizabeth II is on an official two-day visit to Northern Ireland – her first official engagement since Britain voted to leave the EU. Accompanied by Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, the two royals arrived at Hillsborough Castle on Monday (27 June 2016).
The Queen had individual meetings with both Northern Irelands First Minister Arlene Foster and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness. When asked by the Deputy First Minister on whether she was well, the Queen joked well Im still alive.
During day two of the visit (28 June) both the Queen and Prince Philip travelled to Northern Irelands scenic north coast, which included the World Heritage Site, Giants Causeway.
The royal couple were also invited to the nearby village of Bushmills, where the Queen unveiled the statue of Robert Quigg VC, created by Scottish sculptor David Annad. After the unveiling, the royal couple took a steam train ride to Bellarena railway station in Bellarena, County Derry.
