PV Sindhu has had a tremendous year in the badminton circuit in 2016, winning silver in Rio Olympics. Besides this, Sindhu also looked impressive in the last two Super Series contests, winning the China Open and finishing runners-up in the Hong Kong Open to attain the BWF World Superseries Finals spot, which will start from Wednesday in Dubai.
The draws for the women's singles has been announced, and the Indian shuttler has found herself in a tough group, which includes gold medallist Carolina Marin. Besides the two, Akane Yamaguchi and Sun Yu will also feature in Group B. The other group comprises Tai Tzu Ying, Sung Ji Hyun, Ratchanak Intanon and He Bingjiao.
The competition is always going to be top class in the BWF World Superseries Final as only top eight shuttlers feature in the competition, depending on the World Super Series rankings.
This competition is quite different from other Super Series as it will comprise of group stages, and two from each group will progress into the semi-finals of the competition.
Both the groups look equally tough, and the competition is only going to be world-class. PV Sindhu, who is the lone Indian in the competition, will have to be on top of her game to reach the knockout stages. There is very little room for error in the competition.
Sindhu has to be consistent in the BWF World Superseries Finals if she wants to end the year on a high. With players like Marin and Sun Yu in the same group, there is a serious need for her to bring the A game out in the competition.
Here is a look at both the groups of the women's singles.
Group A | Group B |

Sung Ji Hyun | Sun Yu |
