PV Sindhu fell at the final hurdle yet again as she lost the Asian Games 2018 women's singles gold medal match to the world number one, Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu-Ying, in straight games (21-13, 21-16).
The Indian shuttler reached the final after beating Japan's Akane Yamaguchi but was no match for the 24-year-old Tai on Tuesday, August 28. With the second-place finish, Sindhu became the first Indian woman to win a silver at the Asiad.
Yesterday, Saina Nehwal became the first individual medallist in badminton in 36 years for
India. The London Olympic bronze medalist also lost to Tai in the semi-final but she had come up with a better effort than her junior compatriot.
She tested the Chinese Taipei great but ended up losing the last-four match in two games.
All eyes were on Sindhu as she was heading into her fifth major final since the Rio Olympic 2016 gold medal match. The 23-year-old succumbed to her fifth straight major final defeat, third of this year after losses at Commonwealth Games and World Championships title matches.
IBTimes, India has compiled a list of reactions to SInduh's silver-winning performance at the ongoing continental multi-sport event. Check them out below.

If PV Sindhu had a game plan against Tai Tzu Ying, she hardly managed to implement it as the world No. 1 was clearly in control through out the encounter. Hard luck for Sindhu, she once again came against an opponent who at different level than her in the final #AsianGames2018 pic.twitter.com/Ce8LyMRwha

Don't get started on Sindhu being a choker. Chokers don't reach finals. Sometimes you get out played by an opponent who is better on the day. It is sport. That is the way it is :-)#pvsindhu
