Four unidentified men attacked the office of Tamil TV channel Puthiya Thalaimurai in the wee hours of Thursday, 12 March. They hurled crude bombs at the office, which was captured on CCTV cameras.
The four men reportedly rode on two bikes and hurled crude bombs at the office of the news channel at around 3 am. Early investigation shows that the miscreants had carried these bombs in tiffin boxes.
Of the two bombs, one hit the compound wall while the other fell in front of the office, which came as a big shock to the employees and security guards, who were on night shift. It was a low-intensity blast and no one was hurt.
Dark and vague pictures of the suspects have been captured and they are said to have been loitering in the area about half of hour before the attack, reported The Hindu.
It is believed that the channel could have been attacked for airing controversial show 'Thali', a debate show on the importance of wearing mangal sutra. On Sunday, a cameraman was attacked by some fringe group, which opposed to the broadcasting of the show.
The Guindy police have registered a case and suspect that the attack may have some connection with the show. Watch the video of the attack below.
