Ilayathalapathy Vijay has lent his voice for a track for his upcoming Tamil movie "Puli".
Vijay has reportedly sung the song recently. The track is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, and poet and lyricist Vairamuthu has penned the number. It is said that the track has come out well and the team is happy with the outcome.
The genre of the song is not known as yet. While some say that it is a mass track, some speculate that it is an inspirational song. But, the makers have not revealed anything about the track.
Vijay has crooned over 25 songs in his career. His journey as a singer kick-started with the movie "Rasigan", where he sung "Bombay City". Since then, he has lent his voice for many movies. He has sung for music directors like Ilaiyaraaja, Yuvan Shankar Raja , Harris Jayaraj , Deva , Vidyasagar, GV Prakash Kumar, D Imman and Anirudh Ravichander.
Of late, musicians seem to prefer making him sing in his films. It is because the songs not only draw huge attention, but also bring a lot of value to the albums and the movies.
Meanwhile, Vijay is on a break after being part of hectic shooting schedules. He will be spending his time with his family members in the US, before starting his next film with Atlee Kumar.
On the other end, his "Puli" is in post-production stage and the makers are working hard to release the movie for Ganesh Chaturthi (17 September). The movie is directed by Chimbudevan and produced by Shibu Thameens in association with PT Selvakumar.
The mega-budget movie also features Kannada superstar Sudeep, Shruti Haasan, Hansika Motwani and Sridevi in key roles.
