After a busy shooting schedule at Thalakonam last month, the "Puli" team has reached Cambodia to shoot two songs for the Tamil movie starring Vijay, Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani.
The makers initially wanted to shoot the songs in China, for which Shibu Thameens and art director Muthuraj had visited the country last week. They came back with the news that the weather there was extreme cold and expected to remain that way for few more weeks. Hence, they decided on Cambodia.
The first song has been filmed on Vijay and Shruti Haasan. It is said to be a melodious track and possibly shot at Sihanoukville beach. After the completion of this song, another song will be filmed featuring the 'Ilayathalapathy' and Hansika Motwani.
The second song will be filmed at Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument complex in the world. Both the songs have been choreographed by Raju Sundaram.
The forthcoming Tamil movie is the biggest movie in terms of budget for Vijay. "Puli" is being made with a budget of ₹100 crore, bankrolled by Shibu Thameens and PT Selvakumar.
"Puli" is a fantasy-adventure movie directed by Chimbudevan. Kannada superstar Sudeep plays the role of an antagonist, while yesteryear actress Sridevi plays his mother and queen of a kingdom. Hansika Motwani and Shruti Haasan are playing the female lead roles.
The movie has Devi Sri Prasad's music, Natarajan Subramaniam's cinematography and A Sreekar Prasad's editing. It is likely to be released next month and the probale date is 19 June, to serve as a birthday treat to Vijay, who will celebrate his 42nd birthday on that day.
