Fans of Vijay have been celebrating the announcement of title of Vijay's 58 movie, which has been named as "Puli". But there is a little known fact about who gave up the movie name to the Ilayathalapathy.
Yes. It is none other than SJ Suryah, who has given the title for Vijay as a gift. The director had registered it to his name a few years ago and wanted to work with the Ilayathalapathy in a project. But things did not fall in place and the duo could not join hands.
Nonetheless, the movie name was with SJ Suryah. On the other end, the makers of Vijay's 58 movie have been considering a few names like "Garuda" for the movie. However, the team felt that "Puli" would be an ideal name, given the mass image of the actor.
The name also suited the storyline. Hence, they approached SJ Suryah, requesting him to give away the title to them. The director was more than happy to present the name to a Vijay film, considering his wish to direct Ilayathalapathy with the afore-mentioned title in the past.
The makers of "Puli" were thankful for SJ Suryah for his humble gesture. It is said that that it would have been possible if Vijay and Suryah had not shared a good friendship. Now, the buzz says that Suryah might get a mention in the thank-you list of the movie's title card.
SJ Suryah had given a romantic blockbuster to Vijay with "Kushi" in the past. Since then, they share a good friendship.
Meanwhile, the title "Puli", which means tiger in English, has highly impressed Vijay's massive fan following. The name brings a huge mass value to the fantasy-adventure project, which features Kannada star Sudeep, Sridevi Kapoor, Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani. The flick is directed by Chimbudevan and produced by PT Selvakumar in association with Shibu Thameens.
