Kollywood media and audience were keenly waiting to see Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu at the audio launch function of Vijay's "Puli". But, the actor failed to make it to the function.
Many wondered whether the reports of Mahesh Babu attending the music release function of "Puli" was just another baseless speculation created by the rumour mills. However, the fact is that the Telugu superstar had initially agreed to grace the function but later called off his visit as the promotional event of his movie "Selvandhan", the Tamil dubbed version of his Telugu movie "Srimanthudu", got postponed.
Mahesh Babu accepted the offer to launch "Puli" audio as he was supposed to be in Chennai to launch "Selvandhan" last weekend. But, due to some personal reasons, the actor's film's promotional event was postponed and the Telugu star could not come to Chennai. The event will take place on Tuesday, 4 August.
The "Dookudu" star reportedly conveyed the same to Vijay, who had personally invited him to the function. Apart from him, there were also rumours that Telugu Megastar Chiranjeevi would grace the function. But, this remained as a baseless rumour.
However, the absence of Kannada superstar Sudeep, who played the role of the antagonist in "Puli", led to many speculations. But, it has been reported that the Sandalwood actor was not feeling well and hence, skipped the event.
Nonetheless, Sudeep took to Twitter to apologise for missing "Puli" audio release function. He posted, "Bst wshs to th entire crew of Puli n VijaySir. Apologies fr not being able to mk it to th Audio launch this evening. Waitin to hear the songs."
The audio launch function of "Puli" was held in a resort in Chennai on Sunday, 2 August. It was attended by many prominent names of Kollywood like KS Ravikumar, SJ Suryah, SA Chandrasekar and others.
