The audio of Vijay's "Puli" will be launched on Sunday, 2 August, at a grand event in Chennai, where Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu will be the special guest, if rumour mills are to be believed.
The other Telugu star actor, whose likely presence at the event is a subject of intense speculation, is Mega Star Chiranjeevi.
Mahesh Babu has been personally invited by Vijay and the former apparently agreed instantly to grace the function, but Chiranjeevi is yet to confirm whether he will take be attending the launch.
Apart from these two, many other celebrities have been invited for the "Puli" music release function. Kamal Haasan too is likely to grace the event. The makers of the movie have planned a lavish event on the outskirts of Chennai, at Mahabalipuram.
The audio album of "Puli" comprises five songs. Vairamuthu has penned lyrics for all the tracks, which have been composed by Devi Sri Prasad. Vijay, Shruti Haasan, Javeed Ali, Pooja AV, Shankar Mahadevan, MM Manasi, Sooraj Santhosh, MLR Karthikeyan, Anitha Mano, Priyadarshini and Tipu have lent their voices for the songs.
The teaser of "Yaendi Yaendi" song was released last week and it impressed music lovers a lot. The makers' decision to release it has turned out to be an advantage as it has generated positive vibes around the album.
The Tamil movie, which will be dubbed in Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam, features Vijay, Kiccha Sudeep, Shruti Haasan, Sridevi and Hansika Motwani in lead roles.
Chimbudevan has written the story and directed the movie, which has been produced by PT Selvakumar and Shibu Thameens.
"Puli" is a fantasy-adventure film, which is quite rare in Kollywood. The makers have shelled out over Rs.100 crore for the movie, which is likely to be released in the last week of August.
