The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) announced the 2015 results of Class 10 board exams on Tuesday, 26 May. The state has recorded a pass percentage of 68 percent as against 71 percent last year.
The 2015 results were declared on the official website of the PSEB pseb.ac.in and pseb.results-nic.in. Students can check their results by entering either the board registration number or the roll number in the slot provided on the web page.
Girls have outshone boys in overall pass percentage as well as in securing the first rank.
Starting this year, the Board released two separate merit lists, for academic and sportpersons.
Two of the three students in the top merit list in both lists are girls.
Nitasha Aggarwal from Tapa in Barnala secured the top rank with 99.08% in the academic list. Namreet Kaur from Zira, Ferozepore stood first with 99.54% in the sportpersons merit list, The Tribune reports.
Of the 3,53,327 candidates who appeared for the 2015 board exams, 1,64,059 were girls. Yet, the overall pass percentage of girls is higher than that of boys.
While 73.08% girls passed the 2015 Class 10 board exams, only 60.19% boys could clear the exams.
