The star-studded lifestyle magazine Provoke's award ceremony took place at Crowne Plaza Adyar Park in Chennai on Sunday, Aug. 7. South Indian actors Trisha and Shruti Haasan dazzled at the event, which honoured the best performers and entrepreneurs of the year 2015.
The award show also saw the presence of celebrities such as Jayam Ravi, Madhavan, Rana Daggubati, Radhika Sarathkumar, Sobhana, Ambika, Samuthirakani, Mohan Raja, Anirudh, GV Prakash Kumar, Aishwarya Rajesh and Sam Paul, among many others. While Shruti bagged the youth icon award from yesteryear actress and dancer Sobhana, Rana Daggubati won the sensational star of the year award from actor Madhavan.
Jayam Ravi and Trisha were awarded the best actor award for their performances in "Thani Oruvan" and "Yennai Arindhaal," respectively. Samuthirakani was selected as the best supporting actor for the critically-acclaimed "Visaranai" and Aishwarya Rajesh won the best actress jury award. SS Rajamouli's magnum opus movie "Baahubali- The Beginning" won the best movie award and Mohan Raja was selected as the best director for the Jayam Ravi-starrer "Thani Oruvan."
Anirudh Ravichander, 25, received the Best Music Director award and Karthik won the best playback singer title during the event, which also saw performances by Padmashri Shobana and Rajesh Vaidhya.
