Bill Cosby and his defence lawyers have heard the statements of clinical psychologist Dr. Veronique Valliere and forensic toxicologist Timothy P Rohrig on the fifth day of his trial on the sexual assault charges filed against him by former Temple University staff member Andrea Constand.

Dr. Valliere, who has closely worked with several sexual assault victims, took the witness stand on Friday, June 9. He stated that it is normal for the victims to forget about the assault or delay to respond.

"It's typical, we carry on. Victims want to forget about it and pretend it didn't happen," the clinical psychologist told the jury members, adding, "If it's a well-known person, the victim takes on a lot of responsibility for that person's reputation, especially if that person is well-liked or beloved."

Shortly, forensic toxicologist Rohrig took the witness stand and stated that Benadryl could have similar effects of Quaaludes. "It is a central nervous system depressant, it slows the brain down," he said.

Meanwhile, prosecutors in Bill Cosby's sexual assault trial read out the depositions of the legendary comedian from a civil lawsuit of 2005 before wrapping up their case. They presented the actor's statement as evidence to prove that he used Quaaludes to have sex with young women.

In a statement given by the 79-year-old actor, he explained the reason why he apologised to Gianna Constand after his sexual encounter with her daughter Andrea. "I apologised to this woman. But my apology was, 'My God, I'm in trouble with these people because this is an old man and their young daughter and the mother sees this," The Hollywood Reporter quoted him.

Andrew Wyatt, the spokesperson of America's Dad, addressed the media after the fifth day of the trial and talked about the possibilities for the TV star to testify. "Nothing is ever off the table in a trial of this magnitude. You have to look at all your options. In a ballgame, things change and players are taken out and sometimes the star player plays and sometimes he doesn't," NY Times quoted him.

The publicist even blamed the media while revealing the reason for the absence of Camille Cosby and the rest of the family members during the trial. "You will eventually see some of them. Mr. Cosby has always said he does not want his wife to be attacked by media," he said.
