With Samsung's ambitious 'Project Zero' underway, a scoop on the Galaxy S6 has surfaced online revealing key details of its display.
Senior market analyst Jerry Kang, while attending the recently-concluded IHS Display Analyst Conference, said that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S6 will boast dual-edge display; where-in phone's screen will be curved on both right and left side, reported G4Games.
In layman terms, Galaxy S6 will be an advanced version of limited edition Galaxy Note Edge, sans big-display and S-pen stylus support. The new Galaxy phablet flaunts a 5.6-inch (quad HD Plus resolution) unique curved Edge screen, which provides quick access to frequently used apps, alerts and device functionality – even when the cover is closed.
Users just need to swipe their thumb to navigate on the edge screen. They can also receive notifications directly on the Edge Screen while watching videos without getting disturbed.
Though this is just a speculation, the dual-edge display does fall in line with Samsung's new philosophy of designing the upcoming phone. The tentatively titled – 'Project Zero' is an initiation to make radical change in design, hardware specifications to make Galaxy S6 a true marquee device, which is expected to reinvigorate the Galaxy S series smartphones.
Recent reports have indicated that Samsung is planning to incorporate proprietary 64-bit class-based 20-nanometre Exynos 7420 Octa-core (four Cortex-A53 + four Cortex-A57 cores) processor and use Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 CPU for global markets.
Other expected specifications include 3GB RAM, 16/20mp camera, 5mp front camera and 4G-LTE (cat. 6) network support.
The leaked specifications of Galaxy S6 are said of a prototype mode, so some of the key features might get replaced during the course of testing.
