Micromax's subsidiary YU Televentures Ltd on Tuesday (31 March) initiated a new campaign inviting fans to suggest a catchy name for the company's upcoming smartphone aka Project Caesar.
YU (via Twitterand Facebook) has kick-started a tentative christening contest #YUNamehas asking people to come up with a unique and catchy name which can also empower the brand name. Five lucky winners of the promotion campaign stand a chance to win the new YU smartphone and other select people will win up Rs 1 lakh worth of Amazon e-gift cards.
The #YUNameIt contest starts ends on Saturday (4 April). Users are advised to submit their entries with - #YUNameIt hashtag on the company's official Twitter, Facebook wall post or on dedicated contest page (HERE) before 2 April.
Then, the company then selects a few lucky names and put those on a voting contest online, between 3 April and 4 April and the one with highest votes will be chosen as the moniker of the next YU smartphone, which is slated to be unveiled later in April.
Key rules of the contest include:
- Name should reflect company's brand personality
- It should be unique
- It should not conflict with the existing brand or any other sub-brand

Going by YU's Twitter post last week, Project Caesar is expected to be priced under ₹7,000 and pose a stiff challenge to the Chinese rival Xiaomi Redmi 2.

YU's next smartphone Project Caesar is said to boast 2GB RAM, 64-bit class SoC (System on Chip), Cyanogen 12 (Android 5.0 Lollipop) OS and 16GB inbuilt memory. Other features like camera and battery capacity are yet to be ascertained. We will keep you updated on YU's new phone as soon as we get the details.
