The inaugural edition of the one-of-a-kind Pro Wrestling League is almost upon us, and wrestling action is set to enthrall Indian television viewers come 10 December. The promo of the event is also out, and Indian stars Sushil Kumar and Geeta Phogat feature in it.
'Khel Fauladi' remains the title of the campaign theme, a brainchild of DDB Mudra. The videos showcase the amazing strength, endurance, and the fighting spirit of the wrestlers, and also takes a dig on the modern generation, who are more inclined to video games and things that are not really outdoor.
While Geeta lends her voice and face to give a glimpse of the fighting spirit of women, Sushil does the same to showcase the fighting spirit of men.
The tournament, which is similar to the lines of Pro Kabaddi League or the Indian Super League and the Indian Premier League, will be broadcast by Multi Screen Media (MSM), which acquired the broadcasting rights of the Pro Wrestling League for five years.
While Sony Max and Sony Pal will show the matches in hindi, Sony Six will be giving the english feed of the matches straight from the mat, where the wrestlers will be expected to shed a lot of sweat, blood, and tears.
"Sony Max caters to the HSM (Hindi Speaking Market) while Sony Pal gets the DD Direct audience on board. Sony Six will cater to the urban audience," Neeraj Vyas, business head, Sony Max, said. "Pro Wresting will have all the best wrestlers pitted against each other in both men and women categories. So in terms of quality it will be a sheer experience."
A total of six teams will be participating in the event, and each of them will have nine players each (five men and four women).
