The inaugural match of the Pro Kabaddi League took place at the NSCI Stadium, Mumbai, on 26 July. The first match held between Abhishek Bachchan's Jaipur Pink Panthers and Mumbai team U Mamba, owned by UTV head Ronnie Screwvala.
It was a star-studded affair in the presence of several bollywood celebrities including Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek, Aishwarya Rai, Jaya, Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan and director Farah Khan.
Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar also attended the match along with his wife Anjali and daughter Sara. "I am here to support the sport. This is just incredible to see the agility there, the speed, the awareness, it is extremely important and I have played this sport in school. It has been fantastic to come back again and support the sport," Tendulkar was quoted as saying by the Press Trust of India.
The celebrities wore pink t-shirts and cheered for Abhishek's team.
