Puneri Paltan will clash against the Bengaluru Bulls on Sunday in Delhi at the Thyagaraj Stadium in Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League.
This is a return game in which the side from Pune will seek revenge for their earlier loss. The boys from Bangalore head into the match as firm favourites.
Bengaluru are yet to lose a match and are second in the points table. U Mumba are on top, but Bengaluru have two games in hand. Puneri Paltan haven't won any of their matches and are at the bottom of the table with only three points to their name.
At this point the Bulls look serious title contenders. Always on the winning side in the three games, their form has been nothing short of excellent.
Led by Manjit Chillar they look a very efficient unit and are keeping leaders U Mumba on their toes. With each passing win they've looked the side to beat. In their last game against Bengal Warriors they were at their clinical best. The boys from Bangalore in this match disposed off the Bengal Warriors with ease.
The Bulls from the very outset began attacking, which was to prove beneficial for them. They never let up and in the end the Bulls won convincingly as they triumphed, the scoreline was 46 to 30 in their favour.
The other team to brave the wrath of the Bulls was Delhi. Here the Bulls mounted all out attacks and always had their foot on Delhi's throat throughout the match. In the end the score line read 47 to 28 in Bengaluru Bulls' favour.
Ajay Thakur has been very impressive with no less than 10 raid points in the game against Bengal. Rajesh Mandal supported him well in this game by scoring five points. Captain Manjit Chillar with 16 points from the first two games has been in good form throughout the tournament. The Bulls will hope they come good in the match against Puneri Paltan.
In their last game against Bengal Warriors Puneri Paltan played well, but in the end lost 35 to 38. They began very badly in this game, at one point Bengal led 10-0. Thereafter the boys started to pull things back thanks to their skipper Wazir Singh. Even the defending improved but it was to no avail in the end.
All their matches have been tightly fought encounters, however, the fact they haven't been able to hold their nerve in the end has cost them dear. Furthermore in the games against Dabang Delhi and Bengal Warriors they gave away too many points in the beginning. From here on they were always on the back foot.
In the game against Bengaluru Bulls they will hope to iron out their weaknesses and keep attacking them at all times. Wazir Singh once more will be the key.
Bengaluru Bulls, who will look to further their winning streak, can expect a tough fight from Puneri Paltan.
