Priyanka Upendra's Mummy- Save Me is releasing in Karnataka on Friday, December 2. The Kannada movie is reportedly being remade in Tamil, and Jyothika, the wife of actor Suriya, will star in the Kollywood version.
The buzz says that a special screening was organised for Jyothika and her husband Suriya recently. The star couple was apparently impressed by the film and the first round of talks are reportedly over. The Kollywood remake rights have been sold for an undisclosed price.
Mummy- Save Me is written and directed by Lohith, which will also helm the Tamil version of the movie. The film is not a remake of Vidya Balan's hit flick Kahaani.
Priyanka Upendra will be seen in the role of a seven-month pregnant woman and six-year old Yuvina Parthavi enacts the role of his daughter. Ajaneesh Loknath of Ulidavaru Kandanthe fame has composed the music. HC Venu has handled the cinematography, while C Ravichandran has edited the flick.
"We did extensive research on spirits and the supernatural to understand how to go about it. We also contacted swamijis. Mummy Save Me is a different horror film.We have spent around '40 lakh on special effects," Lohith has told Bangalore Mirror talking about the flick.
It may be recalled that Kiccha Sudeep had earlier expressed his interest to watch Mummy – Save Me. He had claimed that after Shh, it was Priyanka Upendra's horror film, which evoked interest to watch a film in this genre.
