Priyanka Chopra seems to have irked a lot of people with her last-minute exit from Salman Khan starrer Bharat. While director Ali Abbas Zafar stated that there is no animosity towards the Quantico actress and wished her luck for her future projects, many Salman Khan fans were not happy with her decision.
Soon after her exit, Priyanka kick-started her shoot for Shonali Bose directorial The Sky Is Pink along with Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. It was also reported that Priyanka has been roped in for her next Hollywood outing Cowboy Ninja Viking opposite Chris Pratt.
Unfortunately, just days after the announcement, the project has now been postponed indefinitely. It was initially scheduled to release on June 28, 2019.
While it may have come as a major setback for Priyanka after declining Bharat, one of Salman Khan's close friends has now taken a dig at the actress' decision. Salman's friend said that her Hollywood film being as good as shelved is nothing but a poetic justice. The makers have now finalized Katrina Kaif to play Salman's love interest in the upcoming film.
"She has burnt all her bridges here. By saying no to Salman and yes to Chris Patt she made it clear where her priorities were. And now with the Chris Patt film as good as shelved it is poetic justice, isn't it?" Salman Khan's close friend was quoted as saying by Bollywood Hungama.
There were reports that Salman Khan has vowed not to work with Priyanka in the future. However, PeeCee's mother Madhu Chopra and Salman Khan's father Salim Khan maintained that they were not upset with the Desi Girl.
When Salman was asked about Priyanka's exit from Bharat, he said that he was not sure why she left the project in such a manner. It was being said that Priyanka had backed out of Bharat due to her engagement with boyfriend Nick Jonas.
"I am really happy for her. If we had known then that she has signed a big Hollywood film, we wouldn't have stopped her from leaving the film anyway. We go to know at the end moment, 10 days before the shooting that she wants to leave the film. We said of course, if you don't want to do it, don't do it. We were given some other reason then," Salman said during the trailer launch of Loveratri that was recently held in Delhi.
He added, "Whatever the reason maybe - her wedding, Hollywood films or her unwillingness to work with me - it's her reason. We are really happy and supportive about her doing good work. Even if she doesn't work here with me, she is making India proud by working there in Hollywood. If she doesn't want to work with Salman Khan, she'll work with a top actor in Hollywood and make our country proud."
It remains to be seen whether Priyanka's decision of leaving Salman Khan's film for Hollywood will turn fruitful or ends up becoming her career's biggest mistake.
