Ace director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been nominated for Padma Shri honour on the eve of 66th Republic Day. He celebrated the moment with his close Bollywood friends at his place on Tuesday in Mumbai.
Several celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Shraddha Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Shruti Haasan, Kanagna Ranuat, Manisha Koirala, and Richa Chadda attended the party.
Along with Bhansali, megastar Amitabh Bachchan, actor Dilip Kumar, and Indian writer-lyricist Prasoon Joshi were also named for the honour.
Bhansali will receive the award for his contribution to art over the years. In an interview, the filmmaker said, "I feel I am at that stage of my life when all my hard work, all the knowledge and experiences that I've gathered over the years, have come to fruition. I feel more fulfilled and complete today than I did when I was 40."
The acclaimed director is known for his blockbuster films like "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam", "Khamoshi: The Musical", "Devdas, "Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela", "Black".
Presently, he is busy with his upcoming flick "Bajirao Mastani" with the "Ram-Leela" cast: Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra.
Bhansali's talent is not just limited to the film industry, he also directed an opera in Paris in 2008 and co-produced a popular TV series "Saraswarichandra".
