Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra inaugurated a new cancer ward at Mumbai's Nanavati Hospital on 21 October, in memory of her father Dr Ashok Chopra.
The talented actress donated ₹50 lakh to build the new cancer ward, named after her father Dr. Ashok Chopra who died of cancer back in June.
Speaking to Mumbai Mirror, Priyanka said, "Loosing my father was the most difficult situation I ever had to deal with. Cancer and its many complications may have taken him away from us but it never broke his fighting spirit. He was a true inspiration and I have lent my support to this initiative not only to honour his memory but also to take his fight against this dreaded disease forward."
A source from medical facility told Mid Day, "PC was close to her father and was heartbroken when he passed away. She was keen to do something for those suffering from cancer and recently came to know about the hospital's initiative."
