A sultry and seductive Priyanka Chopra in a new song of the upcoming film "Ram Leela" has gone viral.
The actress' sexy avatar in the love ballad "Ram Chahe Leela" has met with a tremendous response. In just four days of its release, the song has amassed close to 14 lakh hits on YouTube.
Dressed in white blouse and dhoti, Priyanka gyrates to some complicated dance moves which according to her was akin to 'modern mujra.' The beats of the song are not folk themed as apparent by the song's dominant feel and is raved for its catchy beat.
It may be recalled that Priyanka had previously featured in item songs which has proved a damp squib.
The first being "Shootout at Waadala", where she put on a LED fitted suit and pounced to silly steps for the "Bubbly Badmaash" item number. The hype around the suit did no wonder and the song failed.
Taking the notch lower was the "Pinky" number from the disastrous "Zanjeer" (2013). The forgettable item with the actress dressed in a hideous pink attire did little to help her established image.
With a double song failure, Priyanka's image in song sequences was being compared with respect to contemporary Kareena Kapoor's success rate, be in "Halkat Jawaani" (Heroine) or the popular "Fevicol Se" (Dabanng 2).
But with "Ram Chahe Leela" song gone viral and accompanied with rave reviews, Priyanka's previous item numbers seem to be a thing of the past.
Recently "Ram-leela"s lead actress Deepika Padukone took to Twitter to praise Priyanka in the song and thanked her in the process.
Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta also lavished praises tweeting, "'Finally after months I have heard a song and instantly fallen in love with it - 'Ram Chaahe Leela'. Smart lyrics, super melody and well produced. What I also liked a lot about 'Ram Chaahe Leela' is that it is not overtly grandiose. It is darkly sexy and Priyanka is stunning."
Reacting to the adulation, Priyanka was quoted by Bollywood Hungama as saying, "I am totally overwhelmed by the response. I know that people have noticed the moves. It is just that it's a very different avatar for me and I am proud to be presenting it to everyone."
