In a shocking turn of events, Priyanka Chopra collapsed while on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani".
The actress, who will essay the role of Kashibai in the period drama, was delivering a four-page long monologue when she lost consciousness. Chopra had complained of a slight dizziness before she began her take. The shooting was stopped as she reportedly felt weak after the episode.
"Everyone present was very scared. Her face was sprinkled with water and thankfully she opened her eyes quickly. Plus, this particular scene, during which she fainted, took 10 retakes. Kabhi light barabar nahin thi, kabhi kisine sync sound disturb kar diya. Add to this the heavy lighting on the sets and the four-page long monologue. The process was very physically draining," Mumbai Mirror quoted an inside source.
The "Mary Kom" star, who usually keeps a packed schedule, suffered a similar fainting spell while shooting for Ashutosh Gowariker's "What's Your Rashee?" A few years later in 2012, moments before a live event, it was reported that the actress cancelled it owing to a muzzy feeling.
However, she is now back at work and confirmed the news on Twitter. "And it begins.. Back at work! Amazing creating this whole new world!! #Kashi rips my heart out every time I say her lines. #BajiraoMastani," she posted.
Chopra, who is actively participating in Narendra Modi's 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan', has had very little time to herself in the past few years. With three hit singles – "In My City", "Exotic" and "I Can't Make You Love Me", and truckload of film projects, the former beauty queen and actress has clearly sidelined her health. Apart from Bhansali's dream project, she will be next seen in Zoya Akhtar's "Dil Dhadakne Do".
