Priyanka Chopra has already started shooting for her next Bollywood film, The Sky is Pink. The much-awaited movie directed by National Film Award-winning Shonali Bose, stars Farhan Akhtar as Priyanka Chopra's husband and Dangal actress Zaira Wasim playing their daughter.
The actress has been quite excited about the project as she said, "It's very special to me...it's a great homecoming." The Sky is Pink is based on a true story.
"I look forward to diving into this film...it's very special to me. As soon I read it, I knew I had to be a part of telling this story, so I'm wearing two hats on this one...as an actor and as a co-producer. In both aspects, I am equally excited to work with the amazing team of actors and technicians we have on board," Priyanka Chopra said in a statement.
"Shonali is a formidable filmmaker and I can't wait to see this story unfold in her expertise. I'm looking forward to working with Farhan, Ronnie and Sid again. All in all, it's a great homecoming," she further added.
Priyanka Chopra also shared a post on Instagram about her next Bollywood movie with a picture, saying, "I'm so excited and happy about today..Some stories just need to be told. In the spirit of Aisha Chaudhary and her incredible parents Aditi and Niren we bring you our tentatively titled super special project The Sky is pink. Going on floors today. God Speed. [sic]"
The Sky is Pink will be shot in Mumbai, Delhi, London and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The dialogues are written by National Film Award-winning writer Juhi Chaturvedi and the music is composed by Pritam Chakraborty.
Priyanka made headlines when she walked out of Salman Khan's Bharat. The movie was supposed to be her big Bollywood comeback post the wrap-up of her American TV show Quantico.
The actress-singer had opted out of Bharat just 10 days before the shoot began in Mumbai. Priyanka reportedly told Salman Khan that she wants to leave the project, as she had bagged a big Hollywood film. However, Bharat director Ali Abbas Zafar hinted that Priyanka was getting engaged to her rumoured beau Nick Jonas.
But Priyanka Chopra's next big Hollywood project, titled Cowboy Ninja Viking and starring Chris Pratt, has been postponed indefinitely. Priyanka is now working on The Sky is Pink and Hollywood film Isn't It Romantic slated for release next year.
