Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh revealed a bit too much in a recent interview regarding Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Bajirao Mastani" and "Dil Dhadakne Do."
The 28-year-old actor in speaking to Pinkvilla let out details of his upcoming film "Dil Dhadakne Do" with Zoya Akhtar which is to be shot in a cruise at different international locations. In course of the conversation, the actor gave away on Priyanka Chopra's role in the above film and also in "Bajirao Mastani."
"I collaborated successfully in 'Gunday' with Priyanka. Here ('Dil Dhadakne Do') she plays my sister, and in 'Bajirao Mastani' she works with me again as my wife," Singh told the website.
It should be noted that previous reports had strongly hinted that Bhansali is considering Chopra for the supporting role of Kashibai in his magnum opus. And now, it is clear that Singh will play the central role of Maratha general Bajirao, Deepika Padukone his love interest Mastani and Chopra will be seen as Singh's first wife, Kashibai in the film.
It was speculated that since Chopra is already working in Bhansali-produced "Mary Kom" biopic; the director could consider the actress.
Singh further speaking on his alleged girlfriend Padukone, quipped that he is fond of her and showered words of appreciation on the actress.
"'Ram-leela' is a very intense experience...So I grew very close to her during the shoot. Deepika is a wonderful person, not many people know about this, she has a great sense of humour... I admire her as an actor... I am extremely fond of her at a personal level, and am really proud of her, and am lucky and blessed to have her as Mastani," Singh told the website.
When questioned of his equation with alleged former flame Anushka Sharma with whom he is reuniting in "Dil Dhadakne Do," the actor became protective about her.
"Between 'Band Baaja Baraat' and 'Ladies Versus Ricky Behl', Anushka and I worked together for nearly two years and would hang out together a lot. This led people to believe that we were romantically involved, which we weren't," said Singh adding, "I have been noticing that she is misunderstood by media. It infuriates me to no end, when I spot something unkind written about her in the tabloids, because I am really protective about her."
When asked regarding Karan Johar's "Shuddhi" which was reportedly offered to Singh at one point, the actor maintained a safe answer and stated that he would love to work with the filmmaker and his Dharma productions in future.
