Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover have finally annouced their marriage date. The couple has released a joint statement, confirming that they will tie the knot April 30.
"We are happy to finally share the good news with everyone. 30th April 2016 is the big day and we cannot thank our family, friends, fans and well wishers enough for all their love and support. The wedding will be a private intimate affair. Our deepest gratitude for respecting our privacy this far. We hope to have your continued blessings and warm wishes as we embark on this new journey together," said the statement published in The Indian Express.
Priyanka Chopra took to Twitter and congratulated the couple. "I'm truly so happy for my friend @bipsluvurself n her handsome bridegroom to be @Iamksgofficial Ure a golden heart..u deserve so much n more [sic]," Priyanka tweeted.
This will be Karan's third marriage as he was first married to Shraddha Nigam in 2008 and then he had tied the knot with Jennifer Winget in 2012. Both the marriages had ended up in divorce.
Earlier, reports said that Karan wanted to marry his rumoured girlfriend in 2015 itself, but the actress' father Hirak Basu was not willing to accept Karan as his son-in-law, owing to his previous failed marriages. However, Bipasha's father later agreed to their wedding.
"So even though Karan was clear since early 2015 that he wanted to marry Bipasha, her father did not want her to tie the knot with him and even told his mother this," the Mumbai Mirror had quoted a source as saying. "Since her father wasn't ready to give them his blessings, the couple moved in together into a plush Khar apartment, much to their parents' dismay. After a year, their parents called it truce and Bipasha will take the pheras with Karan on April 30," the source had added.
