Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has become the "most sensational celebrity" in the online world, and her name is being used by cyber criminals to lure victims, according to an Intel Security report.
Priyanka, who plays the lead role in American TV series "Quantico", has replaced Alia Bhatt, topping the list of "most sensational celebrity" online.
The report stated that cyber criminals have been using Priyanka's name to lure users towards malicious websites. "Cyber criminals keep a lookout for ways to take advantage of consumer interest around popular culture events including award shows, TV show premieres, film music launches, celebrity breakups and more," Hindustan Times quoted Intel Security report.
"Cyber criminals capitalise on consumer interest around popular culture by luring unsuspecting consumers to risky sites to steal sensitive personal data," the report quoted Intel Security Group India Engineering Centre head Venkat Krishnapur as saying.
Apart from Priyanka, the list includes names of popular celebrities Jacqueline Fernandez, Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan, Kangana Ranaut, Deepika Padukone, Kapil Sharma, Sunny Leone, Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan among others.
The report warned users against browsing any unknown sites and also asked people to be more careful when searching for "Torrent". "Only download videos from well-known, legitimate sites. Use caution when searching for 'Torrent'. This term is by far the highest virus-prone search term," the report stated.
Priyanka, who has gained international fame with "Quantico", will next be seen in the movie "Bajirao Mastani". The actress will be sharing screen space with Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.
