Actress Priyanka Chopra is making a comeback as brand ambassador for a leading cola brand, joining the fray of other celebrities like MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina and co-star Ranbir Kapoor who endorse Pepsi.
The 30-year-old actress, who is currently on a role with her much-awaited movie "Barfi" and a singing career that will soon take off, made her exit from the endorsement deal over some fee issues in 2004, Hindustan Times reported.
"For sometimes now, the brand had been focusing on cricketers. Now, they want some Bollywood biggies to mix up things. With Ranbir already on board, Priyanka has been roped in because among the top-rung actresses, she is possibly the only one without a beverage brand to her credit," the daily cited an industry insider as saying.
The endorsement deal comes in tandem with the release of her first single - "In My City" - which will release on Thursday, as well as the debut of "Barfi" due on Friday.
Priyanka, who is one of Bollywood's highest paid actresses, will be paid ₹40 million for being the face of the company's brand. The company is also seeking to extend its partnership alongside her singing venture, the daily said.
"I'm very happy to be associating with Pepsi. We have some exciting things planned which will truly 'Change The Game' (the brand's latest campaign tagline)." she said.
