A film by Mammootty, Mohanlal and Priyadarshan team is one of the most awaited project for the Malayali audience. The trio previously worked together in "Parayaanum Vayya Parayathirikaanum Vayya" (1985) and "Mazha Peyyunu Madhalam Kottunu" (1986).
The superstars may soon be seen together as the ace director wishes to make a film with them sharing equal screen space.
"I don't know if I will ever make Manju Warrier film. I decide the characters only after I confirm the story of a film. I cannot cast Fahad Faasil in a character that is suited for Mohanlal nor can I cast Mohanlal for a role that is meant for Fahadh Faasil. The story is the most important aspect of a film. If I get a good story that is suited for Manju Warrier I will definitely cast her. I am not Thinking about a Mohanlal- Manju Warrier film nor am I thinking of a Mammootty film now. I am interested to do a film with Mohanlal and Mamootty where both of them will have equal importance," said Priyadarshan to Manorama Online.
Mohanlal and Mammootty have acted together in more than 50 films and the last one was the multi-starrer "Twenty 20" (2008) directed by Joshiy. Priyadarshan–Mohanlal combination have always created magic in the silver screen, and their last film together was "Geethanjali" (2013), even though it failed to make a mark in the box office.
Mammootty has also acted in few Priyadarshan films and their last film together was "Megham" (1999).
Priyadarshan is currently busy with the pre-production works of his upcoming flick "Amayum Muyalum" starring Jayasurya, Innocent and Nedumudi Venu. The film is said to be along the lines of the film "Poochakoru Mookuthi" (1984). It is said to be a comedy film based on a village.
"I chose Jayasurya because the main character should be capable of handling humour well and he looks good enough to play Nadumudy's or Innocent's son. The film is meant for kids and women where they will have lot to laugh," the director said.
