Priya Prakash Varrier topples Sunny Leone to become 2018's most searched personality in India

Remember malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier who became an overnight social media star with her magical wink? She has now dethroned Sunny Leone to become the most searched personality of the year 2018 in India.

The 19-year-old actress shot to fame after a mere 28 seconds clip of Manikya Malaraya Poovi song from her Malayalam debut film Oru Adaar Love went viral on social media. She was termed as the national crush for flooring millions with her dramatic and naughty wink in the song.

While Priya Prakash has topped Google's most searched personality list of 2018, Sunny Leone failed to crack the top 10 list this year.

Meanwhile, the second spot is secured by none other than Priyanka Chopra's newly wedded husband Nick Jonas followed by popular Haryanavi dancer and Bigg Boss 11 contestant Sapna Choudhary on third and Priyanka herself on fourth position.

On number 5 is Sonam Kapoor's husband Anand Ahuja and the founder and CEO of the sneaker brand called Bhane. The two got married in May 2018 in Mumbai and their wedding pictures and videos had ruled the social media at that time.

Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh's daughter Sara Ali Khan, who made her debut with director Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, has managed to crack the top 10 list of Google's Most Searched Personalities in 2018. She will now be next seen in Rohit Shetty's upcoming directorial Simmba opposite Ranveer Singh. The movie is releasing on December 28.

Salman Khan has managed to secure the seventh spot in the list with his two big movie releases Race 3 and Loveyatri along with hosting TV shows like Dus Ka Dum and Bigg Boss 12.

The American actor turned Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle also became the most searched for personalities in India thanks to her royal wedding on May 19 with Prince Harry which took place at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle in the United Kingdom. She secured the 8th spot in the list.

The 65-year-old Bhajan maestro Anup Jalota had become the talk of the town when he had revealed on the grand premiere of Bigg Boss 12 that he was dating his 28-year-old student Jasleen Matharu. Their romance continued until Anup was evicted from the house. After getting eliminated, Anup rubbished being in a romantic relationship with Jasleen and the latter reiterated his words post her eviction as well. He grabbed the 9th spot in the list.

Sridevi's husband Boney Kapoor has landed on 10th position rounding off the top 10 list of Google's most searched celebrity in India in 2018. Following the sudden demise of Sridevi in February this year, Boney Kapoor and his daughters Janhvi Kapoor and Khushi Kapoor had made headlines across the country.
