A fire broke out on Monday, June 1 on the fourth floor of central Delhi's Nirman Bhawan building that houses several government offices. No injuries reported so far.
The Chief fire officer of Delhi Fire Services (DFS) said the fire was caused by a printer in the government office, following which a call was made to the fire department at 9:01 am.
Four to five Fire tenders were rushed to the spot and the fire was brought under control. A fire official said, "A call was received from the fourth floor of Nirman Bhawan. Following which five tenders have been rushed to the spot."
The Nirman Bhawan houses several central ministry offices, including the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Health Ministry and others.
Other fire accidents in Delhi
This is the second incident of fire in the last 24 hours in the national capital. On Sunday, a fire broke out at an Army Canteen in the Sadar Bazar area, As many as eight fire tenders were rushed to spot to douse the flame and control the situation.
Last week, in a major fire, about 250 shanties were gutted in southeast Delhi's Tughlaqabad area. No one was injured in the incident.
