The summer finale of "Pretty Little Liars" promises to be an explosive episode, with spoilers teasing the death of an important character, as well as the possibility of the ever elusive "A" being revealed.
The episode is titled "Taking This One To The Grave," and the promo of the episode shows Detective Holbrooke describing the crime scene to the press. It is not immediately known who the victim is, but the amount of blood on the scene indicates that the wound was fatal.
It seems unlikely that the lead characters -- Emily, Spencer, Hanna, or Aria -- will be killed off, considering that "Pretty Little Liars" have been renewed for two more seasons. But the fate of their near and dear ones seems to be uncertain.
If Twitter chatter is any indication, then Mona's life is in danger. Spoilers had earlier revealed that Mona's mother will appear in the finale, and many see this as an indication that Mona's life is in danger. It remains to be seen if Mona will really die in the finale, or if she too will fake her death like Alison did in the previous season.
In the meantime, a number of "A" theories have been doing the rounds with many believing it could either be Aria or Alison.
Aria being "A" has been supported by the fact that there has been a change in the character's personality of late, and that Aria is never directly affected by "A's" schemes, Hypable noted, adding that it's either Hanna, Spencer or Emily who falls for "A's" traps.
Meanwhile, Sasha Pieterse, who plays the role of Alison DiLaurentis on "Pretty Little Liars," recently told the New York Post that viewers will get to see a completely different side of Alison in the finale.
"There's a lot of mistrust and misunderstandings," Pieterse said. "Alison feels betrayed and so do the girls in certain ways. Basically there's just a lot of trouble. The girls don't feel safe but neither does Alison and because of Alison's nature, there's repercussions from that always."
On Alison building her own army now that she has broken off her friendship with the other Liars, Pieterse added: "She's always been able to build a little bubble around her, that's really the only thing that she knows how to do — try and protect herself — so that's basically exactly what she does."
