Luis Suarez finally made his debut for Barcelona as the Spanish giants crushed Mexican side Leon 6-0 in the Joan Gamper Trophy at the Nou Camp.
The Uruguayan had been unable to feature in any matches for the Catalan club so far due to him incurring a four-month ban from all football-related activities for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini at the 2014 World Cup.
Although Suarez will not be able to feature in any competitive fixtures for Barcelona until 25 October, the Court of Arbitration for Sport, where Suarez had taken his appeal after FIFA rejected his pleas, has relaxed his suspension allowing his to train and play in friendly fixtures.
Apart from Suarez, there was more good news for Barcelona as Neymar returned to action following his back injury at the 2014 World Cup.
Despite the Uruguayan receiving a warm welcome from all the Barcelona fans at the Nou Camp he started on the bench, coming in only in the 77th minute.
However, by the time Suarez joined the action, the star-studded Barcelona team had already taken a commanding lead, with Lionel Messi opening the scoring, Neymar getting a brace and Munir El Haddadi adding another.
Finally, the former Liverpool striker came in Munir scored his second and Sandro Ramírez added the finishing touches in the closing stages of the game.
The game started with Barcelona getting an early 3rd minute lead through Lionel Messi, who found the net with a close-range header after getting on the end of a Neymar cross.
Nine minutes later, Neymar, after collecting a brilliant pass from Andres Iniesta, doubled Barcelona's lead with a calm lofted effort over the onrushing William Yarbrough.
The Brazil striker, who netted four goals in the 2014 World Cup, doubled his tally just before halftime as he rounded Yarbrough and back heeled the ball into an empty net.
Ten minutes into the second half, Barcelona further increased their lead through Munir. Dani Alves, after collecting a long ball from Rakitic, squared the ball towards Munir, who found the target with a close-range finish.
Luis Enrique, who made six chances on the hour, finally introduced Suarez into the attack in the 77th minute
However, despite everyone being eager to see Suarez's name on the scoresheet, it was Munir who again struck a minute later. Sandro did brilliantly as he raced past the Mexican side's defence before laying the ball for Munir, who confidently slotted the ball home.
Finally Sandro put the icing on the cake by scoring the Catalan club's sixth goal of the night. Sergi Samper found Sandro with an excellent long pass and the midfielder, after evading a couple of defenders, eased the ball past Yarbrough.
