Borussia Dortmund hotshot Henrikh Mkhitaryan will be taking the decision this week itself over which football club he will be joining in the summer, reported the Sun on Monday. The 27-year-old Armenian midfielder is highly expected to join a Premier League side, which could either be Arsenal or Manchester United.
Mkhitaryan, who joined Bundesliga side Dortmund in 2013, has a contract at the Signal Iduna Park until next summer. However, he is confirmed to be leaving the club prior to the start of the 2016-17 itself. Dortmund director Michael Zorc has also mentioned that the midfielder will decide his next destination by the end of the week.
Reported to be one of the favourite players of Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel, Mkhitaryan remained one of the star players of the German side this season as he assisted a whopping 32 goals in all competition of the club this season; also scoring 23 goals from 52 appearances.
The player also rejected a fresh contract extension offer from the club earlier this year.
It has been reported that the Gunners are actively pursuing the signature of the Armenia international and are ready to meet his £25million buyout clause. Arsene Wenger made Switzerland's Granit Xhaka his first signing of the summer for £30million and it is believed the French coach will be actively spending in the summer transfer window this time around.
Manchester United, meanwhile, announced Eric Bailly as their first signing of the summer for a fee in the region of £30million and Jose Mourinho is expected to continue his spending spree with the passing of time.
Mkhitaryan, meanwhile, is also actively pursued by Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.
