Premam total worldwide box office collection: Naga Chaitanya film fails to cross Rs 40 crore mark

Naga Chaitanya's Premam has collected a total of Rs 37.95 crore gross at the worldwide box office in its lifetime and joined the league of an above-average grossing Telugu films of 2016.

Premam is an official remake of Malayalam film of the same name and it was released as a Dussehra treat in over 600 cinema halls across the globe on 7 October. The coming-of-age romantic drama film opened to good response and kept rocking the box office throughout its opening week. The movie collected Rs 26.75 crore at the worldwide box office in the first week and earned Rs 16.65 crore for its distributors.

The Chandoo Mondeti-directed movie clashed with some big ticket movies, but it remained strong at the ticket counters on the following weeks. The movie has completed a run of 50 days in several theatres on the last Friday. The film has collected Rs 13.60 crore in Telangana, Rs 12.40 crore in Andhra Pradesh, Rs 4.30 crore in Karnataka, Rs 5.60 crore in the US and Rs 2.05 crore in other parts of the world.

Premam has collected a total of Rs 37.95 crore at the worldwide box office in its lifetime. The Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan-starrer has been made with a budget of Rs 20 crore and its theatrical rights were sold for a whopping Rs 23 crore. The movie has earned Rs 22.15 crore for its global distributors but has failed to recover 100 percent of their investments.
