Telugu movie Premam has crossed Rs 25 crore mark at the worldwide box office in the first week. The Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan starrer has become the biggest money spinner of this Dussehra.

Premam was released in theatres around the world on 7 October and opened to decent response despite clashing with other new releases Eedu Gold Ehe, Abhinetri and Mana Oori Ramayanam. The strong word of mouth helped the movie to be rock-steady at the tick counters on the week days.

The Chandoo Mondeti-directed movie did decent business on the weekdays too, due to Dussehra and Muharram holidays. Premam is estimated to have collected Rs 15 crore gross in its opening weekend and Rs 13 crore gross on the weekdays at the global box office.

Premam has collected approximately over Rs 28 crore gross at the worldwide box office in the first week. The movie has shattered life-time records of all the solo films of Naga Chaitanya in just seven days. The film has fallen back with a small margin in beating the opening week record of Manam starring Akkineni family heroes.

Made on a budget of Rs 20 crore, Premam fetched Rs 17 crore to its makers from the sale of its global theatrical rights. The movie is estimated to have earned Rs 17.33 crore for its worldwide distributors in its opening week. The film has recovered 100 percent of the investments of the distributors, who are hoping to get good profit share from it in the second week.

Premam is an official remake of the 2015 Malayalam movie of the same name. The huge success of the original had created a lot of hype and expectations about the Telugu movie. The Naga Chaitanya and Shruti Haasan starrer was successful in meeting the viewers' expectations and driving more number of the viewers to the theatres.
