"Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" ("PRDP") is out, and while some are complaining of the length of the film, most are impressed with Salman Khan's performance. Whatever the fate of this film may be, pulling it off wasn't an easy task.
Talking to Daily Bhaskar about what went into making the film, choreographer Shabina Khan said shooting at the Kumbalgarh Fort was very difficult as the dancers had to climb innumerable stairs to get to the desired spot and it took half-an hour for them reach, every time.
Describing one of the sets, which was erected at ND Studios (Mumbai), she said the nursery was created with a pond and patio to make it look like a royal garden.
To add to this, the mirror maze, shown in the climax scene, caused some trouble for the "PRDP" team as the crew had to film sequences without coming into the camera's frame. The "Bachpan Kahan" song, which was shot at the 'Sheesh Mahal' or the mirror palace with two kids playing younger versions of Vijay (Salman Khan) and Ajay Singh (Neil Nitin Mukesh), was exhaustive for the unit.
"Also a glass maze was created inside in which we had to shoot a few portion of the song. That was also a tedious task as we would bang on the mirror while finding our way out from the maze, as our reflection would confuse us. I myself fell twice in the maze and got hurt," the leading daily quoted Shibani as saying.
