Salman Khan's "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" (PRDP) was affected by Daniel Craig's "Spectre" as its collection dipped considerably at the Indian box office on its second Friday and Saturday.
Released in 4500 theatres across India on 12 November, "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" got a record breaking opening and did superb collection at the domestic box office over the weekend.
The movie witnessed steep decline in its business on its first Monday and its collection continued to drop on the following week days. The film collected Rs 172.82 crore at the Indian box office in the first week.
Since there was no big ticket release from Bollywood, "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" was expected to continue its dream run in its second week too. But Hollywood movie "Spectre", which is the 24th instalment in the popular James Bond series, was released in Hindi, English, Tamil and Telugu and has taken a toll on its business on Friday and Saturday.
On its second Monday, the Sooraj Barjatya-directed family drama has witnessed a huge drop of 80%, when compared to its opening day collection. But it showed a decent jump on the next day. "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" is estimated to have collected approximately Rs 5 crore on its second Friday and Rs 6.5 crore on its second Saturday at the domestic box office.
"Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has collected Rs 184.32 crore at the Indian box office in 10 days. After seeing its performance in the opening week, the trade analyst in B-Town predicted that the movie would surpass the mark of Rs 200 crore in its second weekend. But its present trends show that the film will not be able to cross the double-century mark in the domestic markets in 11 days.
However, "Spectre" has got brilliant opening and done superb collection in the country on Friday and Saturday. The movie has got collected Rs 15.42 crore at the Indian box office in two days.
